Legislative Issues:

The Missouri Association of REALTORS® is at the State Capitol every day during the legislative session, promoting the interests of REALTORS® and their clients. Every piece of legislation filed is analyzed by MAR to determine any potential impact on the real estate industry. MAR’s Legislative, and Regulatory Affairs Committee recommends positions to the MAR Board of Directors on these bills.

Regulatory Issues:

In addition to the Missouri legislature, MAR also works with various state regulatory agencies to ensure a healthy business environment and successful home ownership. We work closely with the Missouri Real Estate Commission on all licensing issues. We also monitor other state agencies that impact real estate in some way, ranging from the Missouri Real Estate Commission to the Missouri Department of Economic Development.

Grassroots Advocacy:

Our grassroots advocacy system, VoterVOICE, enables Missouri REALTORS® to stay on top of current legislative information and to communicate with their elected officials. When issues arise at the State Capitol, members receive e-mail alerts to contact their State Representatives and Senators. Making the REALTOR® voice heard has never been easier!

Missouri RPAC:

RPAC stands for the REALTORS® Political Action Committee. RPAC provides every REALTOR® the opportunity to support pro-REALTOR® political candidates at the federal, state and local levels. RPAC-MO supports candidates who support our issues, regardless of political party. A percentage of each dollar given to RPAC-MO goes to support federal, state and local candidates. Recommendations on which candidates are supported with RPAC dollars are collected from REALTORS® across the state, just like you.

Issues Mobilization Political Action Committee:

The Issues Mobilization Fund was created as a means of promoting the free enterprise system and protecting private property rights by educating REALTORS® and the general public about national, state and local issues which affect them. The fund is administered by the Issues Mobilization Committee, which has the authority to provide financial resources in support of the REALTOR® position on ballot measures, both state legislation and as well as local ordinances and regulations. The Committee also may assist local Boards/Associations and MAR in forming and participating in coalitions with other groups who are supportive and committed to the REALTOR® position on a particular issue.

Capitol Conference:

Capitol Conference was initiated to provide an opportunity for members to come to Jefferson City and become a participant in the legislative process. Through meetings, position papers as well as individual meetings with Legislators, members have become much more familiar with the role of the Missouri Association of REALTORS® in protecting the interest of REALTORS® and property owners in Missouri.
